This Month's Vendor in the Spotlight

Looking for something sweet to add some flavor to your summer meals?  Look no further, Skylake Ranch Pomegranate Products has what you need available at the Thursday Night Market (TNM)!

Skylake Ranch started growing pomegranates in 2006. Within two years the crop began yielding 150,000 pomegranates per season.  With this many pomegranates, owner Gail Brown, along with son Chris and daughter-in-law Sarah, decided it was time to think of creative ways to use them.  According to the Skylake Ranch website, pomegranates are rich in antioxidants and studies have shown that they are beneficial for cardiovascular, prostate and immune system health.
Skylake Ranch is new to the Thursday Night Market this season, offering grill sauce, fruit spread, marinade and syrup.  According to Brown, the market is the perfect place to sell their product because they get the opportunity to communicate with customers about the products and the benefits they offer.  "So far, we are having a positive response," Brown states.
 
Recipes and ideas of ways to incorporate the product into your meals can be found on their website and products can also be ordered.
 
Skylake Ranch products can be found anytime in Downtown Chico at Made in Chico,  located at 127 W. 3rd Street, or throughout Chico at retail locations including:  S&S Wholesale Produce, Mooney Farms, Maisie Jane's, The Galley, Chambers Harvest Shop, and Golden West Nuts-Harvest Shop.
